Business Philosophy - Portfolio performance and client service and satisfaction are the primary business objectives of Hudock Moyer team members, who have over 165 years of total experience in the industry. Hudock Moyer Wealth Management (HMWM) has approximately three hundred eighty-five million ($385,000,000)1 in assets under management. The team works with clients to develop comprehensive investment plans to achieve their goals.

Partners

Barbara B. Hudock - CIMA®, Managing Principal, Founding Partner - With over thirty years of financial services experience, Barbara is Managing Principal of Hudock Moyer Wealth Management. The prestigious Barron’s Magazine, sister publication to the Wall Street Journal, recognized Barbara as one of the top 100 Women Advisors in the country two years in a row.She rose from number 35 on the list in 2006 to number 21 in 2007 - an accolade Barbara attributes to the efforts of the entire Hudock Moyer team.  She is a Premier Advisor for Wachovia Securities and holds the professional designation of Certified Investment management Analyst, CIMA.  She is a 2007 graduate of the Securities Industry Institute.  SII is our industry's premier education program and is a joint effort of Wharton Business School faculty and the Securities Industry Association (SIA). A member of the Financial Planning Association and the Investment Management Consulting Association, she is actively involved in both giving and receiving continuing education for the betterment of her practice and the financial planning industry. She is often invited to present at industry conferences. 

Before establishing HMWM, Barbara worked as a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch Private Client Group. She rose to become a First Vice President and was an instructor of financial planning for five years at their Princeton professional development center.  Barbara has been profiled in “The Trust Equation” by Steven Drozdeck and Lyn Fisher and “Wealth Management Teams: The Investor’s Guide to Evaluating and Selecting the Best Alliance of Financial Pros” by Sydney LeBlanc and Lyn Fisher. 
 
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Barbara has lived in Williamsport for more than 35 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University, served on its Foundation Board from 1990-2005, and was named Young Alumna of the Year in 1997. In 2002, Barbara was nominated by the Chairman of the Board of Governors and the Chancellor of the State System of Higher Education to receive the volunteerism award for her contributions to Bloomsburg University. She also was named a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation, is a member of the national Committee on Planned Giving, serves as Director of The First Community Foundation of Pennsylvania, the Williamsport-Lycoming Foundation, WVIA Public TV & Radio, Woodcock Foundation for the Appreciation of the Arts and the Williamsport Chamber of Commerce.   
 
Barbara and her husband Mike have two grown children, Kimberly and Michael. Her hobbies include scuba diving, skiing and yoga.
 
 

Jason J. Moyer - CFP®, Branch Manager, Founding Partner - Jason is a partner of Hudock Moyer Wealth Management, serves as Branch Manager and is Managing Director of the firm’s Investment Committee.   He specializes in portfolio management and estate planning. Jason was with Merrill Lynch Private Client Group for five years before helping to establish Hudock Moyer Wealth Management. He holds Series 7, 9, 10 and 24 security registrations, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant. A Williamsport native, Jason has served on the boards of several local non-profit organizations, including The Community Arts Center, Williamsport Chamber Choir and Orchestra, Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, Williamsport Community Convert Association and the Community Theater League and is actively involved with other charitable organizations in the area. Jason graduated as salutatorian of the Lycoming College class of 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in three majors. He also attended the Divinity School of Duke University.

 

Michael J. Hudock Jr. - Partner, Wealth Consultant - Michael is a Partner and Wealth Management Consultant with Hudock Moyer Wealth Management, focusing on helping clients assess life goals and build portfolios around those goals. Before joining the firm, Michael was employed by Wells Fargo Bank in Atlanta, GA as a Credit Manager in the South Eastern Region, where he consistently ranked in the top three out of two hundred and fifty employees for both his performance and the addition of loans to the bank. Michael was a 2002 recipient of Wells Fargo’s Elite Status Award. Michael maintains a strong focus on philanthropic efforts for our community, raising over $5,000 for the American Cancer Society in 2005 and over $7,000 for the James V. Brown Library’s new Children’s Addition in 2006 through the Hudock Moyer Charity Classic Annual Golf Tournament. A graduate of the University of Alabama with a double major in Financial Planning and Consumer Economics and a minor in Marketing, Michael holds Series 7, 63 and 65 security registrations. Among his activities in the Williamsport community, he is a member of John F. Laedlein Lodge Number 707 of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite.

Staff Members

Wayne L. Dieffenderfer - Wealth Consultant, IT Coordinator - A member of the Hudock Moyer Wealth Management (HMWM) Investment Committee, Wayne focuses on retirement plans, annuities and life insurance needs as well as on-line access for clients. He also serves as our information technology specialist. He holds a Series 7 security registration and is licensed to sell life and health insurance products. He is currently enrolled in the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification program. Wayne is a 1999 cum laude graduate of Lycoming College with a B.A. degree in business administration and a double major in finance and managerial economics.

 

Deanna L. Gephart - CFP®, Operations Manager, Wealth Consultant - Dee has over twenty-four years experience in the financial services industry. She was also a longtime Merrill Lynch employee and helped establish Hudock Moyer Wealth Management. Dee focuses on firm operations, assists with compliance issues and services client accounts. She holds the Series 7 security registration as well as a PA Life and Health Insurance License and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant. Dee and her husband live in Jersey Shore, PA and are avid golfers.  Dee volunteers for the James V. Brown library and the Williamsport Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

 

Barbara L. Jennings - CFP®, Wealth Consultant - Barbara brings over 24 years of financial services experience to Hudock Moyer Wealth Management. She holds the Series 7 security registration and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant. Prior to joining Hudock Moyer, Barbara was the Wealth Management Specialist in South Jersey for Fulton Financial Advisors. Prior to Fulton, she was also with Merrill Lynch for over 10 years. She was the National Marketing Manager for financial planning for 4 years before earning a position as one of two National Training Managers for Merrill’s 15,000 financial consultants. Her final position at Merrill was with the Family Office Group, serving clients with a minimum net worth of $100 million. Barbara has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and a Masters degree from Sam Houston State University. Barbara will be working with and growing Hudock Moyer’s presence in the New Jersey/Philadelphia area, and is proud to be a volunteer with the Mercer County Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and the St. Joseph Carpenter Society refurbishing homes for low-income families.

 

Victoria A. Bartlow - Wealth Consultant -  Vicky brings over twenty years of financial services experience to Hudock Moyer Wealth Management. She holds Series 7 & 63 security registrations as well as a Pennsylvania Life, Health & Fixed Annuity license. Prior to joining Hudock Moyer, Vicky was Vice-President & Trust Officer with First Columbia Bank & Trust Co. in Bloomsburg, PA specializing in Retirement and Estate Planning.  Having graduated with a Bachelors degree from Bloomsburg University, Vicky also has certificates from the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Central Atlantic School of Trust and the American Bankers Association National Graduate School of Trust.   Vicky serves on the Bloomsburg University College of Business Advisory Board as well as the Curriculum Advisory Board for the Department of Finance. She has also served on the Search Committee for the College of Business Dean.   Vicky is Treasurer and Trustee for the Columbia Child Development Program, a non-profit agency serving children in Columbia and Sullivan counties with Head Start, Day Care and Child Information Services. She also serves as Chairperson for the Budget & Finance Committee as well as several other Committees in the program. Vicky is also a member of the Susquehanna Estate Planning Council.  Vicky resides in Muncy, PA with her husband Kevin and enjoys the outdoors with horseback riding, fishing and hiking.

 

Carolyn E. Wharton - Registered Associate - Carolyn Wharton came to HMWM in 2007 upon graduation from Bloomsburg University, with a double major in Finance & Marketing. While at Bloomsburg she served as President of the Finance Association, actively participated in community service efforts, and completed an internship with Merrill Lynch. Carolyn recently completed her Series 7 securities registration, and will  be assisting Michael Hudock with portfolio analysis and client service issues. Born in Lock Haven and raised in Mechanicsburg, Carolyn is now making the Williamsport area her new home.  She is excited to take part in Hudock Moyer’s philanthropic activities, and also stays active with her alma mater through the Bloomsburg University Alumni Association and by serving as a mentor for the Finance Association and Investment Club there. Carolyn enjoys being a part of all the great aspects of Williamsport, including the revitalization effort of downtown, the beautiful mountains and the great people. 

C. Jane Hawkins - Coordinator of First and Lasting Impressions - Jane was employed by Merrill Lynch for twenty-eight years before she joined HMWM. Jane is responsible for greeting clients who visit our office and is the ever-pleasant voice you hear when you phone our office. She is the coordinator of first and lasting impressions. Jane is originally from South Williamsport. She serves on the Board of Advisors of the local Chapter of CASA. CASA is the Court Appointed Special Advocates for children in the Court system.

 

Holly L. Tagliaferri - Communications Specialist - Holly is our Communications Specialist and is responsible for preparing for and scheduling all appointments as well as seminars and educational events. Holly also maintains our computer database and handles other detail work as needed. She has worked in the insurance and annuity business for 29 years prior to joining HMWM.  Holly is very customer service oriented and enjoys working with people. She has completed three sessions of the Life Office Management Association series (LOMA). She is a member of the Veterans association with her previous employer and served as secretary of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter for a year.

 

H. Joseph Moyer, III - Registered Associate - Joe began his career at HMWM in 2003 as an intern, and is a graduate of  Lycoming College, majoring in philosophy with a minor in Economics. Along with serving as Administrative Assistant at Hudock Moyer, Joe assists in the preparation of investment planning and asset allocation reports, and holds Series 7 and 66 Securities Registrations. Joe is originally from Jersey Shore, PA, but now resides in Williamsport and was a member of the Lycoming College Concert Choir and the vice president of the Lycoming College Investment Club. 

 

Jennifer L. Reynolds - Administrative Assistant - Jennifer is a soon-to-be graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Banking and Finance.  She also has an Associates Degree in Accounting from Penn College.  She came to us as an intern in January of 2006, and became a full- time Administrative Assistant in August.  Jennifer's principal duties include answering any statement-related or operational questions for clients as well as assisting the financial advisors in our office, primarily working with Michael Hudock.  She lives in Lock haven with her husband, Tom and her twelve year old step-daughter, Navara, and her hobbies include camping, crafts, all kinds of puzzles and reading the latest thriller.

 

Cheryl K. Appleton - Administrative Assistant - With over 20 years of experience in human resources, Cheryl became a full-time Administrative Assistant at Hudock Moyer Wealth Management in April 2007.   Her principal duties include processing client deposits, account opening and maintenance as well assisting the wealth consultants in our office. She lives in Loyalsock and is active in her church and Community Theatre League, both on-stage and behind the scenes and volunteers for a variety of other charitable and non-profit community organizations.
